What cookies and browser storage do

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. Local storage is another way a website can remember information in that browser. Some storage supports necessary functions, such as keeping the authorized agency owner signed in; optional analytics helps us understand visits to public pages.

You can use the public website and submit an inquiry without accepting optional analytics. Declining analytics does not block necessary website functions, security logging, or the external font requests described below.

Necessary authentication and session cookies

The agency owner's private sign-in uses OAuth authentication and necessary session cookies to maintain authorized access to the inquiry dashboard. This is not a visitor account or an insurance enrollment service. Authentication providers may use their own necessary cookies during sign-in. Names and lifetimes depend on the authentication service and session settings.

Necessary cookies are not optional analytics cookies. Your browser may let you block or delete them, but doing so can prevent sign-in from working. Hosting and content-delivery services also process technical and security information to operate and protect the website; declining analytics does not stop those operational logs.

Remembering your analytics choice for 180 days

The website stores your choice in local storage under bates.analytics-consent.v1. This record contains an analytics yes/no value and an expiration time, and remembers either acceptance or decline for 180 days. It is browser storage, not a Google Analytics cookie, and it does not contain your contact-form message.

This choice applies to the browser and device where you make it. If it expires, you clear browser storage, or you use a different browser or device, you may be asked to choose again. Until you accept analytics, the website does not load Google Tag Manager or its Google Analytics tags.

Optional Google Analytics

After you choose Accept analytics, Google Tag Manager can load Google Analytics on public pages to help us understand website use. The site's Google Tag Manager container is GTM-TDTGGT3S and its Google Analytics measurement identifier is G-8XNFHV9J62. The private agency dashboard and contact/appointment-request page do not load Google Tag Manager.

Google Analytics may use cookies with names such as _ga and _ga_* to distinguish browsers and measure activity. Actual names and durations depend on the Google Analytics settings and can change. Analytics may measure pages viewed, browser and device information, approximate location, referrals, and engagement, using pseudonymous cookie identifiers. Network-address information is processed when requests reach Google; analytics is not described here as fully anonymous. Analytics data retention depends on the relevant property settings.

The website does not send submitted contact-form values, user identifiers, or health details to Google Analytics or the Google Tag Manager data layer. The website does not add advertising tags. Google's advertising consent settings for ad_storage, ad_user_data, and ad_personalization remain denied even if you accept analytics. Independent platform analytics such as Umami or Plausible are not enabled.

Change or withdraw your choice

Open Cookie Settings in the website footer to review or change your choice. You can choose Accept analytics or Decline analytics, including withdrawing an earlier acceptance. When you withdraw, the website removes analytics cookies it can access, including _ga cookies, and reloads the page so optional analytics does not load again unless you accept.

Withdrawal does not delete information already received by Google, and this website cannot clear cookies or storage outside its control. You can also use your browser's cookie and storage controls. Fonts, external links, and Search Console

The website loads Google Fonts from Google's servers when pages load. These requests can share technical information, including your network address and browser information, with Google whether you accept or decline analytics. They are external font requests, not optional analytics cookies.

Google-review and Facebook links open external services rather than embedded review or social tracking widgets. Carrier links and other external resources also have their own privacy and cookie practices. Review those services' notices when you visit them.

Google Search Console reports on the website's Google search visibility and performance. It does not require a new visitor-tracking tag on this website, and no contact-form information is sent through Search Console. Inquiry consent and email are separate

Your cookie choice does not grant permission for marketing, submit an insurance application, or change your inquiry-contact preferences. Contact-form consent is permission to respond to the inquiry, not a marketing subscription. You can contact the agency without accepting analytics.

Transactional inquiry emails are sent through Postmark with open and link tracking disabled. Staff notifications include basic contact and service information, not the free-text message, and visitor confirmations do not repeat the service interest or note. These messages and any later review request or marketing permission are separate from cookie consent.
